Overview
Conventional RFID (radio frequency
identification) systems operating at one single carrier
frequency can hardly handle the great variety of shapes and
materials that occur in products and packaging,
that is why Shanghai Tigon Intelligence Technology contributes
this dual band LF
/ MW active RFID tag
(59071) to better fit
your tracking applications
within complex industrial environments in a cost effective way.
An
example of operations for
rea-time tracking of assets and
personnel throughout a facility would be likely as:
-
Tags are awakened by a 125
KHz signal received from a transmitter or
”Activator”. Embedded in the activation signal is
the Activator’s unique location code.
-
The tag then responds
by transmitting both the location code and it’s
pre-programmed tag ID at 2.4 GHz signal
This “Dual Frequency”
operation, combined with randomized response delays,
allows both the activation and transmission activities
to occur simultaneously such that multiple tags can be
awakened and read at the same time. The low frequency
signal also helps improve noise immunity and allows
signals to penetrate non-metallic materials such as
clothes, briefcases, glass, drywall, etc.
The
circuit board is available for OEM purpose, which could be
easily mounted on or inside any OEM's product due to its small
size. Generally using this
tag can save hundreds of hours of development time
compared with designing custom modules especially when
considering RF performances.

Overview
The Activator (59078) is a
network-capable transmitter that connects directly to an
application-specific antenna to provide a low frequency
activation signal that awakens tags as they pass through
the antenna's field. The Activator writes its location
ID as well as additional informations that operators
input to the tag, which is then re-transmitted, along
with the tag's unique ID, to provide the tag's precise
location at the time of activation.
Through Ethernet connectivitiy, Any number of readers
can be networked, communicating
with readers, controllers, host
applications and maybe each other, throughout
multiple facilities to enable enterprise-wide monitoring
and tracking of assets, personnel and other
mission-critical resources.
A few antennas options are
available for different cases, such as Road Loop Antenna,
Plex-Bollard Antenna, Picture Frame Antenna, Ceiling Antenna,
Flex Under-Carpet Antenna, etc as shown below.
By adjusting the power output on the Activator, the
activation area can be expanded or reduced, thus creating
control points from a few feet in diameter to tens of feet
across.
Each activator
owns a unique 48bits hardware ID as
well and can be configured with its user-defined
location ID via Ethernet or its serial port,
restricted by access security level of operators.
The unit installs easily and offers flexible coverage
for perimeter doors, interior zones, vehicle lanes and
other control points throughout the facility.
The
Activator circuit board is available for
OEM purpose,
which could be easily mounted on or inside any OEM's
product. Generally using this module can save hundreds of hours of development time
compared with designing custom ones.

Overview
RFID
Reader (59079) is a network-capable
general-purpose receiver that detects tag signals,
converts them into data, and forwards the information to
activators, controllers
or host applications. Any
number of readers can be
networked throughout multiple facilities to enable
enterprise-wide monitoring and tracking of assets,
personnel and other mission-critical resources.
The reader
processes and filters information received from any tag,
whether automatically activated via Activator
(59078), or when triggered by a beacon timer,
sensor or alarm event. Tag transmissions can be received
at a distance of about
200m in a
typical office environment, with greater
distances up to 500m
achievable in open air, line-of-sight applications.
The
reader can be configured and controlled
locally or remotely
via RS-232 serial port
or Ethernet
Modbus TCP network communications.
Each reader
owns a unique 48bits hardware ID as well.
The RFID reader circuit board is available for OEM purpose,
which could be easily mounted on or inside any OEM's product.
Generally using this module can save hundreds of hours of
development time compared with designing custom ones.
